On February 10, 2013, the curtain will rise on a historic night: The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards® and the 25th anniversary of our partnership as the official hotel partner of Music’s Biggest Night®.

The Beverly Hilton, 1959

Where it all began. The 1st Annual GRAMMY Awards® dinner ceremony was held on May 4th, 1959 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Attendance in the Grand Ballroom included The Everly Brothers, Perry Como, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.

In April 1959, Louis Armstrong and his All Stars traveled to Istanbul, Turkey as part of a European tour that included a final performance by the future GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award winner on April 12th in the Hilton Istanbul ballroom.

Hilton Amsterdam, 1969
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Eight-time GRAMMY® Award winner, John Lennon hosted his legendary “Bed-in For Peace” with Yoko Ono at the Hilton Amsterdam in 1969. Additionally, lyrics to his 1971 number #1 hit single Imagine were penned on a piece of Hilton New York stationery.

Whether he was on location for a concert, film or vacation, three-time GRAMMY® winner Elvis Presley made the Ali’i Tower’s Mehele Presidential Suite at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort his home away from Graceland.

Michael Jackson was a nominee 35 times over and winner of 13 GRAMMY Awards®, eight of which were in 1984 alone. Before returning home from his tour in 1997, “The King of Pop” stayed in Elvis Presley’s favorite suite at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
