Philip ThompsonExecutive Chef, Capital Hilton
Chef Philip Thompson was born on the coast of England, and as a young boy shared a passion with his father and grandfather for vegetable gardening and spending time in the kitchen. He is classically trained in French cuisine, and spent the past half-decade at Hilton Hotels in the United States. As executive chef at Capital Hilton, he creates dishes for intimate affairs, chef's tables, luncheon gatherings and presidential black-tie dinners. Chef Philip's garden-to-grill approach is inspired from his childhood days with his father, where the taste of pulling fresh root vegetables from the earth and immediately cooking with them is a memory that has shaped his culinary focus today. Chef Philip collaborates with local farmers and urban gardeners, and is passionate about sharing their stories at his dinner table. Chef enjoys hiking in the mid-Atlantic region, and is a member of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Shenandoah National Park Trust.
