What to do around here

No trip to Athens is complete without a visit to the Acropolis. Perched above the city, the area restorated in 1975 allows guests to walk the same paths as those trodden by the Ancient Greeks. Survey the Parthenon, the temple of Athena and countless others. Artifacts found in the Acropolis are displayed in the Acropolis Museum, hosting possibly the most priceless collection of ancient sculpture, art and architecture in the world.

Visit the theater in Athens. Carrying on the tradition of the classical dramatists, there are reputedly more stages in Athens than any other city on Earth. The Olympia Theatre is the home of Greek National Opera, with the Acropol Theatre being utilized to showcase operettas and children’s productions. The most spectacular venue in Athens is the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Set on a southern slope of the Acropolis, the ruins hold 5,000 standing spectators and have seen Maria Callas, the Bolshoi Ballet, and more recently, Sting and Elton John perform.
