The firm of Hatch and Miller designed the Merchants Laclede Building in 1889 as a bank during a booming St. Louis economy. Located at 408 Olive, the building is of Greek Revival design. The building was converted into a hotel in 2005, and after undergoing a massive renovation in early 2014, the hotel still captures the historical essence, coupled now with a trendy boutique feel.
