Join us daily from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Happy Hour* with appetizer specials including Blistered Shishito Peppers, Chicken Meatballs, and "Caviar of the South". Happy hour drink specials include specialty cocktails, pints of local craft beer, and glasses of regional wine.

On Sundays, join us for all day Happy Hour including drink and food specials all night.

Meet Chef Stephen McDowell

Stephen McDowell has been named Executive Chef of San Francisco's Urban Tavern.

Most recently the Chef de Cuisine at the Waldorf Astoria New York, managing the 2-star Chinese fine-dining restaurant La Chine, McDowell has over thirteen years of experience in the restaurant industry. He is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America and has worked for several Austin, Texas food and beverage outlets, including Marriott International, Primizie Osteria and Fuad's on 5th.

"I've always been intrigued with locality when it comes to my cooking whether it be foraging on the outskirts of Austin, the plethora of cultures in NYC, or the abundance of local farms here in Northern California."


Dine with us January 22–31 for San Francisco Restaurant Week. Urban Tavern is offering a 3-course prix fixe menu in addition to half-priced bottles of wine and drink specials, all week long.

Join us February 9–18 for SF Beer Week. From beer tastings to extended Happy Hours and beer paired menus, beer lover's will rejoice once they see what's in store for them at Urban Tavern.
