** Tax Exemption: Guests may be exempt from the tax on their room if the following four (4) requirements are met:
- 1. According to Decree 2646 of 2013, the tax exemption (19% VAT) can be applied to non-residents if they receive the PIP3, PIP5, PIP6, PIP10 or TP7, TP11 or TP12 visa upon entering the country. A copy of the passport will be taken at check-in.
- 2. The service must be provided to a Non-Resident person in Colombia who has not been in Colombian territory for more than 180 days, consecutive or accumulated in the year of the event. Colombians will show their nonresident status with the Alien I.D. card or passport of the country where they reside.
- 3. The room rate must be sold as a tourist package, that is, comprising two or more services at a unit price.
- 4. The final receipt must be issued in the name of the beneficiary (guest) of the exemption; If it is billed in the name of business and / or company (Legal Person) the benefit of the VAT exemption will not be applied.
Consumption Tax and VAT Relief
Effective January 1, 2021, a 19% VAT will apply for Colombian residents. Foreign nationals may be exempt subject to verification at check-in. The amount will be charged at the hotel and is not reflected in the room rate. Conditions apply
