Enjoy a leisurely stroll to Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, U Street Corridor, Embassy Row and Georgetown. For a day trip, walk four blocks south of the hotel to the Dupont Circle Red Line Metro stop, which provides quick access to the National Mall, Union Station and Capitol Hill. Lining Connecticut Avenue between the hotel and Dupont Circle are gastro-pubs, coffee shops, bistros and a lively Sunday morning farmers' market (in season). This area is one of DC's trendiest neighborhoods. Check out the nation’s first certified organic eatery, Restaurant Nora.
Just one block east of the hotel is the Adams Morgan neighborhood. Discover a hip, cosmopolitan global village featuring world-class cuisine, lounges and live music. Sample dishes from a variety of exciting restaurants and bars centered around 18th Street and Columbia Road.
Extending east from Adams Morgan and still within walking distance of the hotel, the U Street Corridor has boutique shops, cafes, bars and an authentic neighborhood dining scene. U Street is also home to jazz legend Duke Ellington and DC's famous Ben's Chili Bowl, renowned for its chili half-smokes and customers Bill Cosby and President Obama.
Sprawling from Dupont Circle and just a short walk from the hotel sits the charming residential neighborhood of Embassy Row. This neighborhood on Massachusetts Avenue is home to the political and social elite, featuring more than 50 embassies. There are more than 170 embassies in Washington, DC.
Admire quaint cobblestone streets and 18th and 19th century architecture in Georgetown. This historic port city neighborhood retains its old-fashioned charm. The bustling DC shopping district is known for its trendy shops and boutiques, fabulous restaurants and cafes, and lively nightlife.
The Smithsonian's National Zoo is located less than one mile from Washington Hilton, along the picturesque tree-lined Connecticut Avenue. This free Washington DC attraction is home to more than 2,000 animals, including the famous Giant Pandas. Events are held throughout the year, including a summer brew fest, Halloween trick-or-treating and holiday Zoolights.
Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy miles of scenic jogging trails just steps from the hotel. Rock Creek Park is twice the size of New York's Central Park. Just two miles north of the hotel, guests can enjoy horseback riding or a famiy-friendly planetarium.
On a quaint street three blocks south of Washington Hilton is The Phillips Collection – America's first museum of modern art. Its collection includes nearly 3, 000 works by American and European artists, including Degas, Cèzanne, van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, O'Keeffe, and Renoir.
