Weekend Guide

Plan the perfect weekend at the Hilton Auckland hotel, a short walk from Auckland city centre, home to a wide range of local bars, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.

  • Auckland Domestic and International Airport is located approximately 35 minutes from Auckland CBD; a taxi transfer to Hilton Auckland will cost you around NZD$100. After you check-in, kick-start the day with a delicious buffet breakfast at FISH Restaurant before exploring the City of Sails.
  • We recommend you spend your Saturday doing the 'Best of Both Worlds' full day tour. This multi-award winning tour allows you to experience the best of Auckland with an Auckland City Tour in the morning; providing insight to Auckland's history and sights. In the afternoon you will leave behind the hustle and bustle of the city and step into the tranquillity of the rainforest as you visit the Waitakere Ranges. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. The tour will finish with a stroll around some of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer.

  • Upon your return from the tour, unwind with a signature Bellini cocktail at Hilton Auckland's Bellini Bar, right on the waterfront.
  • Afterwards, head to the well regarded FISH Restaurant, located on level one of the hotel and enjoy beautiful views of Waitemata Harbour. Simon Yardley's creative menu highlights the best of New Zealand's seafood, and extends to some of the finest meat cuts. To finish, you must try the chocolate popcorn or the classic Bellini nitro frozen - made at your table!

  • Wake up bright and early to make the most of the day ahead. Head to Barabra café and bar - only 100 meters from the hotel, and observe the local morning movement whilst enjoying one of the best cups of coffee in the city. After breakfast, we suggest you head to Waiheke Island which is well known for fine wine, olive oil plantations, world-class art and white-sand beaches. The Ferry ride over to the island will take 35 minutes and departs every hour, on the hour. The Ferry Terminal is a short 5 minute walk from the hotel.

  • Hire a bike and explore the island at your leisure before spending the afternoon wining and dining at one of the many fabulous restaurants Waiheke Island has to offer. We suggest Mudbrick, Stoneridge or Cable Bay vineyards to taste some of the best wines from New Zealand's North Island.
  • Once you return to Auckland, cross Quay Street to discover Queen Street and the Britomart precinct for a coffee and afternoon tea at Milse - featuring exquisite cakes and pastries, perfect for dessert devotees.

  • After your busy day, wind down with a glass of New Zealand wine at Ostro Restaurant and Bar before heading to Cafe Hanoi for dinner. Café Hanoi offers a share plate style menu, featuring Vietnamese influenced dishes.
