1751 Distillery, Bar & Kitchen

Welcome to the Extraordinary.

1751 Distillery Bar & Kitchen is a quintessential experience for anyone who seeks an escape from the ordinary and the mundane. We welcome people with open and enquiring minds, life travellers looking for new taste experiences. Join us for some extraordinary mixology and modern British dining.

The Restaurant at 1751 will feature a seasonal menu with a cuisine that is inspired by modern British dining with an international influence. Expect to see dishes like; crispy pork belly with apple cider gravy, corn-fed chicken & asparagus and pan-fried seabass. An open kitchen, theatre cocktail bar and working distillery will ensure guests always feel at the heart of the action at 1751.

Just in case you were wondering, 1751 is no random number.

We take our name from the Gin Act of 1751, created in Britain to curb the 'Gin Craze' during the early decades of the 18th Century. In an era when gin drinkers were known as; rogues, strumpets and vagabonds.

The Distillery
Our pride and joy, Lady Catherine, is our copper pot still. Together with the distillery team, she's busy every day distilling our signature gin collection to fuel our bar. The name 'Lady Catherine' relates to Lady Catherine Manners, the wife of Henry Pelham, the Prime minister in 1751 and a key protagonist in the introduction of the 'Gin Act' of the same year.
